How to Deadlift Better and Obtain Greater Gluteals

Someone asked me the other day what kind of training I do. I pointed to the barbell.

 

“What about yoga? Or Pilates?

You just…lift?”

 

They had a face similar to mine after watching Pain and Gain, a mix of shock and disgust (sorry, but that movie was just God-awful…so much so that Jess turned it off mid-way through, which SHE NEVER DOES).

Yep…pretty much. Of course, I respect other physical disciplines, have taken yoga and Pilates classes and think they are beneficial, but the barbell is my home.

 

“I just pick that up repeatedly.”

 

The face that followed from them was similar to the face I get when asking for Trumoo at restauarants. The waiter doesn’t want to be mean, but at the same time, you can clearly tell they think I’m weird as balls.

 

Whatever, I love chocolate milk!! And I don’t care who knows it!!

 

Because of my passion for the power of the barbell, that’s what I tend to default writing about when I sit down to brainstorm topics. I love helping people use it more effectively.

That being said, I know everyone is really busy this time of year, so I’m going to be experimenting more with “vlogging” (video blogs) to save you some time, but still give you the best information possible.

And I think it would be fun to dive into the video coaching more. I’ve found I can relay just as much information in a 1,500 word article as I can in a 30-45 second video, plus it helps me learn better speaking and demonstrating in front of a camera.

And then I can just use the writing part to tell random life stories in an attempt to make you chuckle…hehe

 

Today’s video has to do with a simple hip hinge tweak that I see a lot of trainees “avoid” subconsciously. We are a product of the motions we repeatedly do, and most are not familiar with how to tap into their posterior chain. They get their hips back…but that’s not always enough.

This video will show you how to use your booty to the fullest and experience accelerated strength, fat-loss, and performance increases.
