Freakin’ Awesome Exercise of the Day: Ninja Sequence

Even if you don’t say it out loud, EVERYONE wants to be athletic.

 

And I don’t mean everyone wants to compete in sports, I just mean I can say with certainty that anyone would be cool with feeling a little more mobile and coordinated.

 

I work with primarily general population clients, many of whom haven’t competed in sports in many years (if at all) and spend the majority of their time battling carpal tunnel syndrome. This is part of why I enjoy working with these peeps.

It’s pretty cool to help someone with little body awareness/mobility be able to do something that they didn’t think they were capable of.

 

They get excited. I get excited. Doves cry tears of diamonds.

And then you hear stories about how they demonstrated X movement to their family/friends at a party.

 

More doves, more diamonds.

 

One of the movements that I love teaching people is the Inchworm to World’s Greatest to Kickthrough Thingamajig…otherwise known as the Ninja Sequence.

 

Why It’s Freakin’ Awesome

 

#1: It looks really complicated, but with a little practice, you can pick it up pretty quick

 

#2: It mobilizes virtually everything. If you are short on time, do this and you will cover a lot of bases at once, as far as your warm-up is concerned.

 

#3: It makes you look like a ninja

 

#4: Do you need to hear anything else?

 

I have no recollection where I discovered this thing. I think it came to me in a dream one night.
